Georgetown fits more variety into walking distance than any other neighbourhood in the city. The first mile of the C&O Canal gives you tree-lined towpath, low bridges and still water; Cady's Alley reads more European than American; the waterfront park opens onto the Potomac with the Key Bridge upstream; and the streets between them are brick, ironwork and painted rowhouses the whole way. Georgetown's own visitor guide sends couples to those three in particular, and they hold up.

Getting There
Georgetown has no Metro station of its own — Foggy Bottom is closest, with the Circulator and buses running along M Street, and paid garages near the waterfront. Everything worth shooting sits between the canal, M Street and the river, so the session is walkable once you arrive. Your photographer will pick the route and share a meeting point once you're booked.
