Why Two Quotes Differ
Two photographers can quote thousands apart and both be priced fairly. These are the things actually driving the gap, roughly in order of how much they matter.
Hours of coverage
The single biggest lever. A six-hour package covering ceremony and the early reception sits well below a ten-hour one that starts with getting ready and runs to the last dance.
One photographer or two
A second shooter adds a person to pay for, and adds angles you cannot get alone - the other partner getting ready, reactions during the ceremony, wide and close at the same moment.
Photo only, or photo and video
Adding film is the fastest way to move a package into a higher bracket. Hybrid packages cost less than hiring two separate teams for the same day.
Albums and prints
Most packages include a digital gallery and a print release as standard. A designed album is usually an add-on, and the price depends on size and page count.
Travel and dates
Destination weddings carry travel and accommodation. Peak-season Saturdays price above a Friday in the off season, sometimes by a wide margin.

How much should I budget for a wedding photographer?

What is included in a wedding photography package?
Almost every package covers the shoot itself, the editing, and an online gallery with a print release. Beyond that it varies, which is exactly where two similar-looking prices start to diverge.

Choosing and booking
Is the cheapest wedding photographer a bad idea?
Not automatically, but understand what the price reflects. A lower number usually means fewer hours, one photographer instead of two, or someone earlier in their career.
Any of those can be the right call. What matters is that you are comparing like with like - ask both photographers for the full inclusion list in writing before you weigh the two figures against each other.
When should I book my wedding photographer?
Twelve to eighteen months ahead is what we recommend. The most in-demand photographers go first, particularly for peak-season Saturdays, and booking early also protects you from price increases since most photographers hold the rate quoted when you sign.
If your date is closer than that, it is not a problem. We work with couples at every stage of their timeline, including some only a few weeks out.
