How Much Does a Wedding Photo and Video Package Cost?
What a combined photo and film package costs, why one team is cheaper than two separate bookings, and the trade-off hiding in the cheapest hybrid quotes.

Low end
$5,000
High end
$9,000
The low end is one person covering both stills and film. The high end is a dedicated photographer and filmmaker for a full day, with edited ceremony audio.
- Common starting point
- $7,000
- Wedding photography overall
- $2,000 to $9,000
Roughly where a hybrid package with a highlight film tends to land before extras like drone or a same-day edit.
The range across all package types. Adding film puts you at the top of it, which is the trade-off to weigh against a longer photo package.
Why Hybrid Quotes Vary So Widely
Two hybrid packages at the same length can differ by thousands. The second item below is the one that explains most of it.
One team or two bookings
A hybrid package from a single studio costs less than hiring a photographer and a separate film team for the same day, because the travel, planning and coordination are shared rather than billed twice.
How many people are shooting
The cheapest hybrids have one person alternating between stills and film, which means neither is being captured continuously. A dedicated shooter for each costs more and is the reason two quotes at the same length can look nothing alike.
What film you actually receive
A three to five minute highlight film is the usual baseline. A full ceremony edit, speeches, a longer documentary cut, or raw footage each add to it. Ask for the deliverables in minutes, not adjectives.
Editing time
Film is the most labour-intensive part of any wedding package. Much of what you are paying for happens after the day, in the edit, which is why turnaround on video is usually longer than on photographs.
Audio and extras
Clean vows and speeches need microphones on the officiant and the couple. Drone coverage, a second camera on the ceremony, and same-day edits are typically priced on top.
How Hybrid Packages Are Built
The shape these packages usually take. Individual studios structure their own tiers, so treat this as a pattern to recognise rather than a fixed price.

Photo And Video, Answered
Cost and value
Is a photo and video package cheaper than booking separately?
Usually, yes. One studio covering both shares the travel, the pre-wedding planning and the on-the-day coordination across the two services rather than charging for each twice.
It also removes a practical problem: two independent teams have to negotiate the same angles in the moment, and the couple ends up managing it.
What should a wedding video package include?
Ask what you actually receive, in minutes, and how the audio is captured. Vague descriptions are where expectations and delivery come apart.
Worth confirming before you sign:
- Length of the highlight film
- Whether the full ceremony is edited separately
- Whether speeches are included
- How vows and speeches are recorded
- Expected turnaround time
Is wedding videography worth the extra cost?
It captures things stills cannot: your vows in your own voices, the sound of the room during speeches, movement during the first dance. Couples who regret skipping it usually cite the audio rather than the footage.
If the budget only stretches to one, most photographers will tell you honestly that photographs are the priority and a shorter film is a reasonable compromise.
Choosing a team
Should one person shoot both photo and video?
It is the cheapest way to get both, and it is a real trade-off. Someone alternating between two cameras is not capturing either continuously, so you get less of both than a dedicated pair would deliver.
For a small wedding it can be perfectly sufficient. For a full day with a large guest list, a dedicated shooter for each is worth the difference.
How far in advance should I book?
Twelve to eighteen months ahead is what we recommend, and it matters more here than for photography alone: hybrid teams are a smaller pool, so the good ones book out further.
If your date is sooner, still ask. We work with couples at every stage of their timeline and can tell you quickly what is realistic for yours.
